About 50cc Scooter Hire
Honestly speaking, these small scooters are not really suitable for rides over 10 km because of their limited power, smaller seats, and basic suspension. Ideally, riding solo is the best option. We do not recommend using a 50cc scooter for long-distance trips, mountain roads, or demanding journeys.
Due to availability and pricing, we can currently provide mainly near-new Taiwanese SYM 50cc scooters and motorbikes. Occasionally, a Chinese-made copy may also be available. Genuine Honda 50cc scooters are either too old, often more than 10 years old, or extremely expensive, with prices of around US$ 2,000-3,000 each.
To be completely transparent, 50cc scooter rental in Hanoi is only a very small part of our business. We offer these scooters mainly when customers specifically request them. This is not our primary rental service, and we do not believe the quality of available Honda 50cc scooters justifies their high purchase price. Nevertheless, we always try to prepare any 50cc scooter we provide in the best possible mechanical condition.
In short, a 50cc scooter is a last-resort option for riders who cannot or do not want to ride a larger scooter. If you are comfortable riding a 110cc or 125cc scooter and have the appropriate license, we generally recommend choosing a larger Honda instead.

Why 50cc Motorbike & Scooter Rentals?
Vietnamese law generally requires riders of motorbikes and scooters over 50cc to have an appropriate driving license. Your ordinary home-country driving license is not automatically valid for riding in Vietnam. For international visitors, the applicable international driving permit requirements are important, so you should check the current regulations and your insurance conditions before riding.
Some customers choose a 50cc scooter rental in Hanoi because they want a lower-powered option or believe it better fits their personal insurance arrangements. However, you should always confirm directly with your insurer and make sure you comply with Vietnamese traffic laws before riding.

In reality, 50cc motorbike and scooter rental is not very popular in Hanoi or Vietnam. Demand is relatively low, and the smaller size can also be uncomfortable for taller or larger foreign riders. Therefore, we cannot guarantee availability. If you specifically need a 50cc scooter, we strongly recommend contacting us in advance to reserve one.

Why no Honda?
We would genuinely prefer to provide Japanese Honda 50cc scooters, but the economics simply do not make sense for our rental business.
We have a policy of not providing 50cc motorbikes or scooters that are more than 4 years old or 30,000 km, so using old Honda Cubs or other aging 50cc models is not an option for us. In Vietnam, a new Honda 50cc model such as the Super Cub, Giorno, Scoopy, or Dunk can cost approximately US$3,000, which is extremely expensive for such a small motorcycle.
Many of the inexpensive Cub-style 50cc bikes found on the Vietnamese market are Chinese-made copies, which are not the type of motorcycle we prefer to provide.
For a reliable and reasonably priced 50cc rental, our practical choice in Hanoi is therefore a Taiwanese SYM or KYMCO. These brands offer acceptable quality at a much more reasonable price than a new Japanese Honda 50cc. With proper inspection, maintenance, and some tuning, we can prepare them to provide a dependable short-distance riding experience.
Some customers have specifically asked for a small scooter resembling the famous Honda Giorno 50cc. For those requests, we have also provided a GN-50 in near-new condition. With some customization, it can provide a similar appearance and practical experience for customers looking for this type of small scooter.
