Dirt 250cc motorcycles (also trail bikes or enduro) are great for riding in the mountainous areas where you likely ride on rough roads. We discontinued the 250cc motorcycles below because they were a bit old and spare parts are not easy to find.
Honda Off Road 250cc Dirt Bikes
Our first dirt bike, a scrambled XR250 1996 model. The bike worked well. However, as soon as we could import newer versions, we discontinued this 1996 model.
Made in 1992, Honda XL250 (Degree) 4-stroke, 250cc were the best dirt bikes for Vietnamese off-road riding where power is what you need to get over dirt roads. However, this bike is only ideal for riders from 1.85m and experienced bikers. In addition, the cylinder, piston, and rings are very hard to find. With Vietnamese weather conditions, the quality is not that good.
Today, the minimum a serious long distance traveller would use is around 650cc, most travellers are riding from 750 to 1200 cc bikes, preferably shaft driven. (BMW is far the most popular bike followed by Honda Transalp and Africa Twins, Kawasaki and Yamaha 650 and 750 Enduro’s etc). During the 70’s most of the trips were done on 250 cc bikes. At that time the Yamaha XT250 and Honda XL were the most popular bikes. However, Vietnamese speed limit is from 25 to 80km/hour, therefore we found out that 250cc is the maximum our riders need for a great trip at reasonable prices.
Honda Touring 250cc Motorcycles
Honda GB Clubman 250cc. Classic look and strong. In fact, this was one of the most successful 250cc cruiser models Honda ever made. You wouldn’t believe that this bike was made in 1983 and still runs very well.
Honda Baja250, a scrambled dirt bike, a bit of Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki. The engine comes from the Honda GB Clubman 250cc above. In fact, this was one of our first dirt bikes back in 2007 when there was not much choice.
